OP, since you seem very concerned about dirt under the bedliner, maybe order one of these: https://www.ecoological.com/gapshield.html

I just ordered one and will be installing shortly. I plan to haul some dirt and gravel soon and hate stuff falling down through that gap. I also got tired of dropping pens, drill bits, etc down there when I use the tailgate as a workbench to cut lumber for projects.

Love my DualLiner, had it for 3 years. I might be the exception but I like the plastic tailgate cover, it makes it easier when sliding heavy objects in and out. The rubber bottom is thick and doesn't let things slide. The only cleaning I had to do is to wipe the first 5 inches under the mat by the tailgate but in all fairness I haul salt, mulch dirt ,sand ,wood , etc just about everyday so when your pushing and pulling stuff in and out and are not the most careful it will happen. All that said the DualLiner has held up well.

If there is a issue they are 30 miles from were I work and I try to do business with local WI based companies when I can.

Does the dualliner ever go on sale? For 400 It's mighty tempting to just pay the 500 for a spray-in

... and this is why I personally wouldn't get a Dualliner over Line-X. DeeZee makes standalone bed mats for under $100. So you are paying $300 for the side, front and tailgate hard plastic panels.

You do get a lifetime warranty with Dualliner vs. 3 yrs with the DeeZee mat. Line-X is also lifetime.

Line-x is great, not as slick as a drop in but not as sticky as a rubber mat. I have a small rubber mat on my Line-x if I want something not to move while normal driving.

I have a DualLiner which is about $400.00. My closest Line-X applicator is about 50 miles away. I would had to take a day off of work as the procedure takes about half a day. Price quote was a little over $500.00 for standard and about $100 more for the premium with UV protection, little heavier thickness, and whatever else. If Line-X was in my town, then I probably would have gone that direction as Line-X supposedly holds up better than the factory spray on jobs.

I had a 2004 Ford Ranger with the Ford plastic liner for 13 years. I had a DeeZee rubber mat in that for floor protection. It held up well but the corners in the front of the bed had started cracking after about 11 years. I coated the cracks with roofing tar. Blamed the cracks on UV.

What I am really excited about is the Gapshield that JS2003 listed. I have a Gator Tailback Tri-Fold tonneau cover that leaks and applying Gapshield products over the folding joints might solve my problem. Thanks for the tip JS2003. I'm on my third cover from Gator and tired of fighting with them.

Someone on here had recommended the 'stall mat' at Tractor Supply for a bed mat. I have the Ford drop-in liner...included in the sale. I like that it has all the cutouts for the tie-downs and the indents for putting a 2x8 to keep stuff from sliding. Another plus is the ability to hose it out and it looks new!

Thanks! That is great! Let us know how it is. Curious if it peels up after a bit with closing the tailgate or not.
