Default Driver side window acts up sometimes

First all i have a 16 5.0 scab. Its not really a big deal but only the driver side window does this, not any others. In certain situations, i havent been able to figure out the combination of of button pushes make it reoccur. Anyways, randomly when i roll up the window it will go halfway up, the it goes back down. It only seems to happen when i make it roll up automatic. When i do it again and it will work correctly. Kinda aggravating when is raining outside when it does this. Does this happen to anyone else? I havent been to the dealer or anything yet mainly because I don't know how to replicate the problem. Maybe bad switch, operator error (just kidding, i know how to roll up a window) lol. Has anyone else ever noticed this? Or is it just the ghost in my truck toying with me?

Nope, not just your truck.. Not sure of the actual technical term but It has something to do with the safety obstruction auto reverse feature. The electronics senses a resistance/obstruction, like a kids hand or something, and auto reverses the window. Others have complained on the forum that the Ford sensor is overly sensitive. Mine happens when I’m on the freeway and/or there’s a strong cross wind as I’m rolling up the window. I avoided getting in channel vent visors because of this

Hold the switch up when closing the window. Do it a few times to teach the module. I do this when it thinks my window visors is an obstruction, after I give it a re teach the issue goes away

Interesting item about "teaching" the module. Really never gave it much thought. Thanks Thugzy

no problem... and when you hold the switch up, keep holding it until after the window is closed, you hear the relay/motor click in the door then let go of the switch

Yup mine did this to me yesterday. It happens quite frequently and I’ll do the relearn procedure and then it will stop for a little while. Then out of the blue it’ll start happening again.

It is overly sensitive, and unfortunately it's normal. Most of the time it happen to me because of bumps in the road. On a rough road I need to hold the button up until it's closed or it will never close on its own. #firstworldproblems

I had the same problem with the windows that you describe. I took it to the dealership and they relearned the windows. Haven't had a problem since.

My 2015 does the same thing. Mainly on rough roads though. I usually never attempt to auto roll up unless I’m on a smooth road.
