Default Drive Mode - Simple Question

Checked the manual
Combed through Google

I can't for the life of me find anything on the 'how' you should change drive mode (DM).

Do you have to be stopped?
Do you have to be under a certain speed?
Do you have to be in park first?
Will anything break if I'm going 80MPH and I change it from Normal to something else on accident?

Thank you for any replies !

As far as I know it's at any speed on an F-150.

On my Raptor to get into Rock Crawl mode you had to stop and put into low range before it would allow you to select it, but F-150's don't have that mode.

I don't know of any restrictions to switch drives modes. I have gone from Sport to Tow to regular on my 2016 many different times while driving down the highway.

I've done it at highway speeds, too. Never saw any negative effects.

No issues here either. First time I switched modes, I would do it while stopped, but then I started switching on the fly. I recently switched to Snow/Rain mode while going 65 mph on the highway. No problems.

Snow/Rain mode makes the truck feel like it has half the power. It was interesting.

HOW to change it = push the button and enjoy.
Everything is fully electronic, if the function is disallowed you'll be alerted by the tones.

All is good, change your modes as you see fit and enjoy.
For example, if you have hill descent available on your truck, press the button and see what happens. You'll be notified that you can only use it at speeds lower than 20 mph.
