Default Drag strip

I will be going to the drag strip soon and need to know somethings.
I will be launching it at 2800 rpm, and need to know if I can use the locker and if I can switch from A4 to 2wd while going the down the strip. Thank you 2016 EcoBoost 3.5

Leave it in a4, it won't switch until you stop applying power.

I'd assume there's better traction with the rear locked... but you can only do that if going on a straight line, so you'd have to remember to shut it off before turning. Not sure if you can do that on the fly or not. Since the rear differential is open, you only get traction on one wheel (which one?). And the front is probably the same thing. So you'd have immediate traction in 2 wheels in 4A. If you engage the locker, it'd be 3. If traction is good, I don't think you need the rear locked with stock power, but please let us know . Good luck.

fyi the rear locking diff will auto open after a certain speed, 40 mph I think. Youre carrying the weight of the 4wd so you might as use it if you think traction is a concern. Put it in 4H and let her rip. Honestly though I dont think you will need it on a prepped track.

Do not use 4A on the dragstrip. Use 4hi and just leave it 4hi.

This. I engage 4hi after the waterbox before treeing up then after you pass the 1/4 mile marker slow down practically to a stop and switch to 2wd making sure it engages prior to turning out.
You can also switch to 2wd during your run if you want. Shouldn't switch until your off the throttle.

I don't engage my e-locker either.
