Question Door Unlocking Question

I have just purchased a 2018 F150 3.5 Eco. I have made some mods with Forscan, simple stuff following YT videos and spreadsheet. After making the mods I observed that when I touch the door handle the truck does the unlock action (unlock doors, flash lights) even if the truck is not locked. Seems to me it should not do that unless the truck is locked. I can't remember if it did this before I used Forscan, and I just did not notice, or if this is a result of using Forscan.

I have a 2017 Lariat and it only flashes and unlocks the door if it’s actually locked. If it’s not locked it does nothing and simply opens like a regular door.

Mine works like this. I've made a number of Forscan changes.

I realized I assumed what you meant by your reply, but actually it could be taken either way. Do you mean your truck only does the unlock procedure if it is actually locked? Just trying to nail down if my truck has something unusual going on.

So to be clear, my lights flash when I grab the door handle wether or not the truck is locked.

Just tested mine. It unlocks the doors and flashes the lights when I first grab the handle. If I grab the handle again, it flashes the lights and unlocks the doors again. I tested it multiple times, on both doors.

I’d say what you’re seeing is normal behavior.

Ok. Thanks for clarifying. It would seem there is nothing wrong...just seems strange.

I had to go look at this again. My locks click and lights flash every time I touch one of the front door handle sensors, regardless of their current position.

I told you!

Don’t get to say that very often.
