door lock keypad
so this purchased a used 2016 platinum a few month ago and have had trouble getting the master keycode from the dealer so that i can reset the door lock to my code. I don't even have the old keycode at this point. a ford dealer will charge me 50 to get the code electronically and they say it takes at least 30 minutes to do so. Does anyone know of a way to reset this ourselves besides the dealer....have given up on tracking down the past owner.
thoughts??

You can get it yourself pretty easily in about 5 minutes.. the dealer is BS'ing you if they say it takes 30 minutes to do it, they just want their $$$$. The code is on a sticker on the back of the fuse box inside the cab, its in the passenger side footwell by the door.
The following is a youtube video that will show you where the fuse box is located... skip to about 1:25 in the video.
Now, the "tricky" part is its on a sticker on the backside of that fuse box, so you'll have to pop that black molding piece off between the fuse box and door (it just snaps on and off) and pull up the "platinum" door sill piece about halfway from front to back... the piece from the floor to the glove box will pop off and you will have complete access to the fuse box and back side of the fuse box. There is a sticker there with the 5 digit code for the car, no tricks to getting it. That is your factory key code-i'd write it down somewhere! When I bought my '15 plat, same deal... did not have the code and somehow figured out after googling this is where its at, worked like a charm.
When done, all the pieces snap back together like new and can program your new code per the manual... good luck!

I found mine on my XL with no keypad.......insert one key, turn on but not start, turn off and take that key out. Insert second key, turn on but not start and the code showed in the cluster information display. Simple as that. It may be different if you have push button though.
You have to put one of the keys in the emergency start location (from the manual) and WITHOUT PRESSING THE BRAKE press the START button. Press the START button again. Put a second key in the emergency start location and WITHOUT PRESSING THE BRAKE press the START button. The keycode should now display on the dash screen. You may or may not have to place the other key out of range of the truck during this process.
