Default Door handles

Hello

I have a 2015 Ford F150 Platinum screw 3.5L ecoboost. Seems like a lot of information for my question but I feel it is necessary. Does anyone know how to remove the door handles for this model? I've watched a number of YouTube videos and it looks like there are a number of different designs on the handle which has different methods for removing. Any help would be great.

I would like to avoid breaking tabs that then make them unusable.

Going through my chrome delete steps and the door handles are up.

Thanks

Not that good of an explanation, but this is from the Ford WorkShop Manual.

Thanks. Thats pretty involved to get the door handle cover off. I might just go with one of those covers you can buy off of ebay and paint them. That ones that go over the stock covers.

They come off easier than you'd think\. It is a little tough, but read thru this thread. I popped mine off and plasti-dipped them black, held up for about 18 months so far.

I agree. It’s easier than the service manual makes it look.

I ended up buying complete door handle assembly take offs in my color and popped off the handle cover with a thin, narrow screwdriver. Very easy to do, once you watch a video explaining it. Did the same with the handle covers on the truck and swapped them out. It was still less expensive than buying unpainted and having a shop paint them to match. I didn't want to fool with swapping out the complete assemblies when there are other places on the exterior of the truck where matte black finish is used, so this worked for me, YMMV. If you can find just the OEM handle covers painted your color, that would save you a ton of work, at the very least. Just one man's adventure and I wish you well.

Multiple different sets of videos showing far different methods.
