Default Dome Lights Random

The dome lights on my truck are randomly blinking, staying on, staying off or not working at all. I've had it to the dealer and they think it's a computer software issue and needs an update but there is none available yet for this issue. I say bunk and it's a switch assembly issue. Has anyone have seen this problem?

2015 Lariat Sport, Supercab, 502A package

Thanks

Not trying to be a wisenheimer, but are your doors closed all the way?

Yes, I'm pulling the fuse this afternoon. It's a bitch when I drive to and from work in the dark and the led lights flash on and off. Back to the dealer on Monday.

I would try sitting in truck with someone pushing/pulling on doors to eliminate that it is a door switch. Switch or door could be out of alignment.

Thanks, I've tried that and the third light is not coming on just the front lights.

It has to be BCM issues because other than the door plungers I think it does all the switching, unless there is a loose wire somewhere shorting out. If it were shorting I would think the BCM would detect it.

I'm going back to the dealer tomorrow, they could not determine any issues on Friday from the BCM.

Check the alignment of your doors as well. They might be misaligned and triggering the sensor when the body flexes.

I just found out today that it was a short in the overhead console that took out the BCM, back in business soon.
