I am working with a dealer to order a 2018 truck, he gave me a price but on the paper it said the incentives will be locked in at the time of the order but rebates can only go up. Does it sound common to have the incentives locked at the time of the order?

 

Yes. Ford allows you to lock in and at the time of delivery, if the rebates are better, Ford will honor the re-negotation.

 

My experience was the current incentives were locked in at time of purchase and an additional incentive was available and applied at the time of delivery.
