Default Initial thoughts going from 13 to 18

Picked up my 2018 Raptor yesterday. I'm sick with joy.

That said, here are some initial thoughts in going from my 13 FX4 to it (not performance related).

Sync 3 makes MFT look like a joke. Way faster and far more intuitive. But there doesn't seem to be a favorites/quick dial screen.

Love the new interior door handles. Hidden very nicely.

Console seems a bit bigger. Certainly needs some kind of organizer in there.

Disappointed (silly as it sounds) that there aren't those little tabs to hang plastic bags on on the bottom of the rear seats.

Love that the AC/Heated seat controls are back to buttons (like my 10) and not in menu.

The easy entry doesn't slide back nearly as far as my 10 or 13 did. Maybe there's a setting I don't know about?

The cubby in from of the shifter is bigger and nicer. The slot between the shifter and cup holders is perfect to prop your phone up on the side.

Cup holders are way better. The fact that they "grip" allows for smaller bottles to not wiggle around.

Ok. That's a quick quick impression.

Does this mean the cup holders have finally been improved? Because my '16s cupholders are useless for 99% of anything I've tried to put in them.

The ones on my 13 were just big holes. The 18 has springy grips and held a coke bottle rock steady.

My 16 has big holes with small rubber grippers on one side that don't touch an aluminum can, any type of disposable cup regardless of size, a 16/20/24oz bottle, and is too small for just about anything I've found that's visibly larger. The one exception is my Yeti tumbler, which of course doesn't fit in any of my other cars. I'd love to see a picture of your cup holders if you would, and I'll look into the possibility of replacing my useless ones with the new style!

I have the same cupholders on my 2017, mlp141. And you're right, they are perfect for every cup I've put in there.

The cupholders work great. As far as controls, I despise having vehicle controls on the touch screen. Everything should be a button that doesn't rely on touch/stereo. On my XL Sport Appearance, thankfully that seems to be true. Fact is, for those planning to keep long-term, chances are in 5-6 years, we'll need to replace the SYNC head unit with something more modern, so having zero controls on the head unit is preferred.

Couldn't agree more. Buttons make way more sense.
