Default Does Engine Auto Stop/Start work in the rain?

Hey all - truck is 6 months old but only have 3k miles on it. I noticed today when I got in the truck to head out and then all the way on my way to work, the Auto Start/Stop feature wasn't working. The symbol appeared at the bottom of the dash display with a line through it when I stopped the truck. The dash switch is "on", I am in normal mode, and this is the first I am noticing it. The only difference between this drive and all my others is it just started the rainy season. So this is the first real rain the truck has experienced. I was wondering maybe there was some sensor that tells it it's raining and turns off the Auto Start/Stop. I know I have the rain sensing wipers, but I even tried it with them off, and the Auto Start/Stop was still not working. Thanks in advance for your time.

Which menu's are you talking about? The center stack or dash? The center stack just shows the symbol with a line through it. Under which menu would it be? because when i go to vehcile nder advanced settings, the check mark is checked.

Your Start/Stop is most likely enabled but something in its logic is preventing it from engaging. This is by design it uses multiple inputs including things like trans temp, cabin temp, engine parameters, etc. Sometimes I can get mine to engage when it doesn't want to by pressing the brake a little harder. Try that.

That's the first thing I thought of, and defrost was on, however, I turned it off and drove around the block and it still did not work.

I have the jumper cable fix done to my A.S.S. switch.... my son was driving and we stopped at a stop light and the engine cut off, noticed the A.S.S. switch was not lite up, dash still had the A icon with the line through it, it was raining that day too.... this got me thinking maybe there was something with the outside weather that affected it. Even after getting home, restarted the truck, still same affect... after sitting over night, back to normal, turn truck on, jumper tells computer the switch is pressed, A.S.S. disabled, no rain also.

Defrost will disable start stop (though on my 2016 if you select defrost and floor or vent, it will shut off).

As others have pointed out, there is a screen that will give you the general reason why start stop is disabled, but I can't tell you where on the 2018. On my 2016, scroll through the trip guages and fuel economy graphics, and it is one of the screens there.
