Umm, the seat BOTTOM doesn't lock in the down position. The problem with the latch is the seat BACK not latching in the UP position.

I have a 2017 Supercrew and it does not latch/lock in the down position. The handle under the seat is only to lower it back down.

“Larger half” ... you must’ve been my ex wife’s divorce attorney. JK!

Neither section of the rear seat bottom locks down on my 2017 XLT Super Crew.

Could you post a photo of the release latch that unlocks the smaller section of the seat bottom?

Not on my 18 Platinum.

Try raising the seat without holding the latch.

To the OP's original post regarding your car seat in the back- I have 1 rear facing, 1 forward facing car seat soon to be a 3rd in the back seats. I didn't really think of this before but in an event of a rollover, are the car seats safe being that the seats don't lock down? I know the f150 has the best safety ratings out of all the trucks but just curious?

Absolutely agree. The small seat DOES lock down. You have to pull a little latch I believe to unlock it and flip it up.
