Default Does '18 Sync 3 Really make engine noises?

So I heard years ago that the radio made engine sounds to emulate a V8 on the eco boost trucks. I bought an 18 2.7L Eco and so far I have not heard any.

I had a couple of Hondas that did the opposite. They had an microphone in the cabin that recorded cabin noise, inverted the signal and played it through the stereo. Wreaks havoc if you add a sub woofer. You have to disconnect the mic. Its active noise cancelling.

Ford calls it ANC... but on my 18 Lariat, you get the noise. It's very obvious when you kill it with Forscan.

What package is yours? I think you only get it on Lariats and above (maybe specific to the B&O system, I can't remember).

XLT with 302A package, and some other packages/options. Just a simple 6 speaker system.

I tried to buy a 2.7 Lariat that was loaded but it was $51K and $8K more than I wanted to finance. If they would of gave me KBB value for my trade and I didn't pay taxes on all the rebates I could of swung it. I picked this F-150 XLT with 302A, BLIS, FX4, Sport Pkg , Tow Pkg 36 Gal tank Sunnroof, Tonneau, Spray bed liner for $42K. Just wish it had climate control. I miss that. I does seem to do it when I remote start though. Its day 4 with it. Still figuring things out. I set all the settings I could find and read the manual. I just figured out today that the Ford Sync App on the Apple Car Play screen takes me back to the Sync 3 system. I only drive 150mi /week.

I should of got a F150 when I dumped my 5.7L Tundra SR5. I was in a good position then. Got $22K for 2011 65K mile Tundra that was paid off. I paid $29.5K new. That thing turned out to be a POS. 13 MPG, bad steering rack, oil leak and then shavings (not flakes) in the oil. I had 2 POS Toyotas in a row. So done with Yotas.

Can't attest to the eco boost as mine is indeed a V8 but I have not heard any audio sounds on my XLT. My previous 16 5.0 had a Flowmaster 40 series muffler on it so I couldn't hear anything unless the radio was turned way up lol... Just got mine a little over a week ago so I am still learning MY 18 specific things that my old one didn't have.

The simulated engine noises are not in the XLTs. Lariat or higher I believe.

My 18 Lariat has it. I didn't know about it when I test drove the trucks. I drove a 5.0 and a 3.5EB back to back. I was like, the Ecoboost doesn't sound too bad.

Thanks guys.

It is funny though, I like a truck that sounds good but I don't want to hear it in the cab. Windows down yes, windows up, no. I had a 97 Dakota w 5.2L, hi flow cat & mufller. I used to love to roll the windows down when I was next to a Jersey barrier and listen to it.

We've got a small underpass here. Very tight space. Love stomping on it while going through lol

A friend of mine has a 2017 Platinum and it has the piped in V8 sound; my 2018 Lariat with the 5.0 has the real thing.😉

They are not enabled on XLT or XL, but the sound files are in the ACM. You can enable via FORScan.
