Comparing my '18 Platinum seats to the 16 Lariat, there is a huge difference in the lumbar. The 16 cut into my back something fierce until I disconnected the cable, but in the Platinum, I can't feel the lumber when at it's lowest setting. The Platinum seats are far more comfortable than the Lariat.

I do agree they are way less aggressive than lower trims but still wish I could relax them just a bit more. I feel like they are slightly more aggressive in the lumbar than the Lariat with the cable disconnected.

It could be I don't feel it like I did because I have the top bladder out more. It presses into my spine at just the right spot to alleviate some pains I get. I wish it was a little bit higher though, then it would be right on target. I do know that I don't need to do a thing with the Platinum seat like I had to do with the 16, and that was to add padding to the lower cushion. The Lariat seat in the 16 was the most uncomfortable seat I had since the 13 Fusion Titanium. Sport seats and fat guys don't work well together.

I got a 2019 Ford F150 XL. My back kills me in the seats. Does the OP original instructions and pictures apply to fixing drivers seats without lumbar support adjustment?

Hello,
I think my main problem, like many other people, is that the lumbar hits me too high. Has anyone tried disconnecting the upper-most “zig-zag” style seat spring? Looks like it would be pretty easy to just unhook and re-secure whatever that is that is zip tied to it.

Thank you!
Easy fix just picked up a 16 and was hating the lumbar. My 09 was perfect. I made a longer clip so my lumbar still gives a little support if needed.

Finally did this a week or so ago. So much more comfortable. Between this and the spacer that I added to the rear seat bolts, I am more comfortable when driving. Thanks OP.

Thanx to the OP for this mod. I have a 19' XLT with buckets. Worst seats I have ever sat in in 50+ years of driving. I posted several threads after purchase asking for help but all I got were the typical Fan Boy responses like "best seats ever", "more comfortable than my wife's Lexus", "your stupid" etc. I even went to a custom upholstery shop and the guy said they were horrible. He called his buddy at Ford and got the parts breakdown and said they were junk and not fixable.
My arm and shoulder go numb after 1/2 hr. in the truck. This should help a lot.
Left permanent DNA inside the seat too.

Maybe someone can help me out. I can get pliars to remove the white cap from the factory loop. Also did people move the motor housing that is connected with a zip tie ?
