Default Ditch lights?

I searched, but couldn't really find what I was looking for. Has anyone mounted led lights to the sides of the OEM fog light bezels? They would point almost perpendicular to the truck and i think they would make pretty functional offroad obstacle/ditch lights at low speeds. Anyway, I have some Rigid flush mount dually d2s that I'm trying to find a place for.

I’m curious if there’s any structure behind that plastic that’ll prevent your install......

On the 2015-2017’s, there’s about 1-3/4” of free space behind the panel. After that there’s a vertical 1/8” thick metal support that you’d have to notch.

I’m sure the 2018’s are similar, though they may have a tad more/less clearance (my truck will be in next weekend so I can check).

The 6 LED Rigid’s you have are 3-3/16” deep so you’ll have to do some cutting.

Rigid’s SR-M lights with 2 or 3 LED’s are only 2-1/4” deep so using them would require a little less trimming. Think that’s the route I’ll go when I get around to this project.

yep. It'll take some cutting, but I don't think it will be too bad. Hopefully I'll get some time soon to knock this little project out.

I looked today and my 2018 is different. Behind most of the plastic is a parallel steel support. Probably more cutting than on a 2015-2027 but still doable.

With all the stuff I have going on, I’m thinking this mod will have to wait until July. Ha

The term you're looking for is cornering lights. Used to be common on big American cars but now mostly European luxury makes have them now.

Cornering lights come on with blinkers. I think his idea is to wire these up manually for off road use.

Saw a guy on here that mounted a couple of cubes in the lower grille. they were recessed just inside flush and the drivers side was aimed towards the passenger side a little and vise versa. Same principal as your idea.
