It won't be the first or the last thing screwed up on these trucks. Speaking of which, I just came back from a drive and my rear view camera stayed on the screen the whole 12 mile drive home.
I knew I should've waited till 2016 models came out
Yep getting a 2016 would of solved the gallons used not being correct problem.. They did a good job on that fix! And you would of gotten the SYNC-3..

Damn straight! Ford did screw up the fuel tank float and decided to not fix the issue and hide the problem on the 2016 F150s!
If my needle shows empty, the truck should be close to empty! I shouldn't have 6-8 gallons left in the tank when the needle is on E.
Big Fail Ford!

But the tank float has nothing to do with the gallons used reading, only the DTE based on mpg X Fuel left in tank based on the float.

On my truck the actual gas gage seems very accurate.

Hey Livonia,

My Gal Used, DTE, and my analog gauge are all inaccurate. Have you compared your Gal Used to the read out on the gas pump?

I have the 36 the one time the low fuel light came on the gage was near empty and it took 32.5 gallons to fill it. Just like it should of. Normally I fill up at 1/4 tank left and it takes around 28 gallons where the gallons used shows 26.5.

I consider everything but the actuall gas gage as for entertainment purposes only.

Case in point we were driving home from Chicago, the GPS and DTE both read the same. But the DTE dropped faster than the GPS DTG was doing. And I was driving very carefully trying to make it home without stopping for gas in the middle of the night as that would of meant doing the whole trip on just the tank full we left the house with.. As the DTE originally said we could do.. Now we might of made it the last 45 miles on the 2.5 gallons in the tank but didn't feel it was worth trying.

It sounds like your analog gauge is working the way it should.

Time for a test...gonna run down to the low fuel warning and see how much goes into the tank.

Do you remote start a lot because the dte Is not calculated while it is remote started. So you will burn more fuel than the computer thinks it has so it will be off same thing for your average mpg in the cluster.

No I didn't (and normally don't) on the trip I was talking about it was summer time and I prefer to drive with the windows open and the seat cooler on. And as the seat cooler was really a seat heater no reason to remote start.

My truck is the same as all the other 2015's where gallons used is off no mater what about 2 gallons in a 33 gallon refill. Actual mpg off by 1.5.

Having the 5L I normally have the gage set for instant mpg for my driving entertainment.. This also works great for letting me know that the ACC is following a slower moving vehicle and has backed off the gas therefore warning me to turn on the turn signal before the truck starts losing speed and pass them.

I bet you didn't even know. I would think next time you tow with this trailer the DTE will be a little closer to being correct... But what ever you do don't plan your gas stops based on the trucks DTE guess.. In less you have a few jerrycans full in back...
I have 6 trips towing with this truck for a total of about 700 miles.

FWIW, yesterday I drove until I had 4 miles to empty (actually did have 2 full gas cans in the back, or I wouldn't have cut it so close), and the pump put 22.5 gal in my 23 gal tank. Trip average was 18.5 MPG at that point. So, it was low by about 5 miles. Not bad.
