Disable panic button on keyfob? Or how to shut the damn alarm up
So for some reason I somehow keep setting off the panic alarm on my '15 Plat with the keyfob, I guess by accidentally hitting the button while the keys are in my pocket, or when pulling them out of my pocket, etc.
This is extremely annoying, and made worse by the fact I can't figure out how to shut the damn alarm up. The only way I've found to make it stop is to get into the truck and start it.
a) how else am I supposed to be able to shut the stupid thing up other than getting into the truck and starting it? some magic combination of keypresses?
b) is there any way to disable that entirely from the keyfob? I might try taking apart the spare one and cutting wires or something

I had the same issue and the only solution I found was to open up the key fob. Inside there is a piece of soft plastic/rubber that has little "nubs" on it. I clipped the nub for the panic button and now that button simply doesn't do anything.
As far as stopping the panic alarm, I've found pressing the unlock button works for me.

Got fed up with triggering the panic alarm every time I squatted down. I mixed up some clear epoxy, forced it down around the edges of the button with a toothpick, and wiped off the excess. Let it harden overnight. Vast improvement!
Unfortunately, I have the same problem with the 'unlock' button. Initially wondered why the truck was lighting up like a Christmas tree every time I squatted down to wash the wheels! This would merely be a minor nuisance except that I can never be sure the truck is locked when parked in the driveway. The kids keep telling me I left the truck's lights on, but no, it's just the stupidly designed fob accidentally unlocking the truck again.

Thanks Ford!
Thanks Ford you designed a possible life saving safety device that's so obtrusive, owners are disabling it!
Ford do your desktop computers, stop and sound an super loud Alarm!! When they think you need to take a coffee break? Or your office chair thinks you've sat down too long?
No, ok just wait, more new lite weight aluminum military grade technology is on the way! Perhaps your chairs headrest can protrude forward and have you sit in an uncomfortable position? All that comfortable foam we had in your chairs, gone, too comfortable. And your overhead lighting can leak water onto your desks and then sound like gerbils are loose and running around in the ceiling !
No worries, that's a normal characteristic! And wet seals are now used on all your plumbing pipes to reduce weight!
Ok just kidding, but you have to admit that would be annoying, sort of like what your new F150 owners are having to put up with!
Ford owners appreciate the new technology, but please don't rush it into production, before it's had in the field owner testing.
Oops, I guess that's the 2015s!
