I was able to install mine without removing the headlights... A couple tips - it took a few tries to fit everything in but the sequence that worked for me was to put in the connector first, then install the bulb, and driver goes in last. Tried installing the bulb first but the fan housing got in the way. Also, make sure pos/neg is on the right way BEFORE you install everything - plug it in and turn on your headlights before shoving everything in.
Using a drill to unscrew everything i found it insanely easy to remove the entire headlight to do this lol. I didn't replace the bolt behind the fender flares, it seemed really unnecessary with the clip AND a 10mm bolt when there were 8 other bolts holding that bit on AND a clip on the backside AND 2 small screws.

I just hate dealing with all those clips...ill look at it more later before I start I guess and see what direction i'll attempt.

Thanks for the tip on what order to install...

There's 3 clips total (5 if you have the fender flares. Just remember when clipping your fender flares back in, remove those 2 clips and slide them onto the fender flare itself so you can just push the clips back through the holes in the panel to snap it back in, as it's impossible to do it any other way.

I'm curious about the cooling of these once the hot weather comes within a sealed headlight... If the bulb with fan and driver are all enclosed with the boot on, then where does the heat go? Isn't it just being recirculated inside the housing with nowhere to go? Wouldn't it just keep getting hotter and hotter inside? How does the fan get cool air and where does it come from?

I'm honestly curious about this because to me it's like having hot turbo air going straight back into the engine without an intercooler... You have TWO heat sources (bulb and driver) but no way to cool the air coming into the fan, it's just recirculating heat and adding more in a loop...

I'm sure it's ok in winter but...

I thought same thing. In super high summer temps and headlights on for hours its gonna pretty warm in that small space

I'm sure there's enough total space inside the housing for it to not get very very hot. I don't understand how it would be any different from the metal strip heatsink models being inside the housing too.

Well, they have a 3 year warranty, so there is that. What halogen has a 3 year warranty? What ebay bulb has a 3 year warranty? What other vendor/brand of LED has a 3 year warranty? None that I know of, and even if a ebay seller offers it, they dont stick around as the same username on ebay long. Look at all the major LED sellers on ebay, few have been around more than a couple years.

That's exactly why my heatsink strips are OUTSIDE the housing. It doesn't make sense to put them inside a sealed housing. Where is the heat supposed to go??

All part of the reason I went with these.
