Default Different Rake on Left vs Right?

Ok guys I have measured twice(about 10 days apart) and have checked my tire pressure(within 1 psi of each other) and have come up with the same results:

Left side(driver) has 1" more rake than right side.

Left side is close to 3" of rake while right side is close to 2 inches.

Is this unusual or not??? What else could cause this???

Thinking about a leveling coilovers but how to you plan properly with this kind of discrepancy???

From the garage floor perpendicular through the center of wheel to the bottom of the wheel well molding. Have heard of going from center of wheel up but I would have to locate the center of the wheel each time and just does not seem to be as easy - got the same measurement twice so I do not think it could be out of round tires....

OK, I think I know where you are going - I just went out there again and the height of both rear tires are 31 1/2" and it is the rear measurements that contributes to almost all of the rake discrepancy.

Have only owned the truck for about 3 weeks, and have just been learning about rake here on leveling type Threads - so now trying to determine if it is such a problem to take to the dealer or not.

No but would not think a brand new truck would be delivered needing to be aligned...I have not done any suspension type mods yet and have not noticed any adverse handling.

If I understand correctly, you are saying the rake front to back, differs from the driver side to passenger side?

If you have a 36 gal fuel tank and its full, you may see a slight lean, but I would think it would be negligible.

Measuring from the floor is not accurate, as you have weight on each wheel compressing them differently! Go from wheel center up to your point. Yes it may be difficult, but before I'd bring it to the dealer saying your truck is lopsided, I'd check it accurately.

Now some have a lopsided bed on their new trucks, but that doesn't sound like your concern.

Yes, you understand correctly: rake is 3" on left side and 2" on right side.

OK, went out there and measured the rear as you said and got 25 1/4" on the left and 24 1/2" on the right. So 3/4" difference between the two. The front left measures 1/4" lower than the front right which increases the rake difference between the two sides to 1".

Yes I have the 36 gallon tank at about 1/2 full now.

What is the normal rake amount for these trucks???

You may have this issue:

Rake is front to back. Perhaps your bed is twisted? Check the photos in the above post, does your truck have that defect?
