Default Different Drive Modes

One half hour checking threads in search, same time searching the manual and nothing. It must be somewhere in outer space.
I have been using ECO mode recently and am wondering just what is taking place. Best thought it is to do with transmission shifting. Well if that is correct, I can not "feel" any difference with the way the truck drives. So what is going on?

Dulls pedal input so its less likely to jump up in RPMS when you push the pedal a little too hard. Also I'm sure it changes the shift points to favor economy over power delivery.

It's all over this site, even a thread within the last day. The manual also covers it under "Drive Control".

DRIVE CONTROL Selectable Drive Modes The system delivers a driving experience through a suite of sophisticated electronic vehicle systems. These systems optimize steering, handling and powertrain response. This provides a single location to control multiple systems performance settings. Changing the drive mode automatically changes the functionality of the following systems: • Electronic stability control and traction control maintains your vehicle control in adverse conditions or high performance driving. See Stability Control (page 224). • Electronic throttle control enhances the powertrain response to your inputs. • Transmission controls are optimized with shift schedules tuned to each terrain.

EcoSelect – Offers the best possible fuel economy with tradeoffs in vehicle performance and comfort.

I can't believe you can't feel a difference, in Eco mode mine definitely requires more pedal push and when using Adaptive Cruise it is muuuuuuuuuch more conservative on throttle than in Normal. Many on here recommend Eco as a fix for the F-150s overly enthusiastic speed resume when using Adaptive Cruise in Normal.

Thanks all for the info.
While searching and coming up with dozens of threads, one of them was interesting enough to add that mod to my truck today. It was from 2016. I will put that in another thread.

I don't have ACC in my poor person version truck. I do have it in my van and they must have designed a much better way to get back to set speed when slowed down. just the other day with it set at 55 and the vehicle in front of me slowed for a left turn, I got down to 25 and as soon as he cleared the van moved back to 55 in a slow manner. Not because of a weak engine. It is a bigger engine and more power than my truck.

I do remember reading in one of those threads that one guy stated that he actually got less gas mileage in ECO mode than in NORMAL. Doesn't make sense...but that is what he said.
