Different - Adding Auto Climate to 2018 XLT Question.
My xlt bezel with 2 switches Bezel found on E-bay 3 switchesI
I'm starting this new thread since I don’t want to hijack the similar thread pertaining to heated seats. I hope no one is offended.
I have a 2018 XLT Super Crew with the standard a/c heat control, not the automatic temp control as in the Lariat. I want to add the auto temperature control function. I think I can do that by simply exchanging the faceplate (bezel) with one from a 2018 / 2019 Lariat or Limited. I know I will not gain heated seats or dual zone functions, but that’s OK as I don’t care about those items. It also appears I will lose the access slot for the CD player, but I don’t care about that either.
I’ve looked on the internet and have found a few used bezels in the $350 to $400price range on E-bay. I’m willing to pay that if it will work in my application. The main difference I see between mine and the pictures of those on E-bay, is that mine only has two switch openings at the top of the bezel and those illustrated have 3 openings. (Pictures attached)
My main question is, can I still exchange the bezels by transferring my 2 existing switches over to the E-bay bezel, and just have an empty switch opening? Do the two (or 3) switches just pop out of the opening so I can put them into the replacement bezel, or is it more complicated than that? I want to keep the existing combination hazard/autostop on-off switch, as I already have an Autostop Eliminator installed to the switch, and it’s made only for the dual function switch. If I can just swap the switch assemblies, I can just leave one of the openings open, or leave the switch that comes with the replacement bezel unwired and inoperative since I don’t have a dashcam.
In other words, can I just move the top switches around as I please by just snapping them in and out of the bezel?
Also, do the Lariat and Limited bezels match the color of my present XLT panel?
Does anyone have a lead on where I can buy used bezels?
I assume you can just not connect one of the switches.
I bought one with 2 from a member here. He has a couple listed on the classified site now. Firerunner - great to work with, good prices compared to eBay.

Good luck
Where would I find that on here? I have gone thru vendors, did searches, too old and dumb to find.
Thanks, but too late for me. I searched and searched all over this forum and couldn't find the thread after scalpel posted. So, I ordered one from E-bay for $375. It looks perfect and also has the CD player slot (which I don't really care about) I could have saved some money, but so be it, at least it's on the way before the brutal south Texas summer weather sets in (any day now).
I had the automatic climate control on my previous truck (2005 F 350 Lariat) which I totaled. After having that feature, I can't do without it. I'll just swap my switches over and be on my way.
OK. I have installed the Lariat bezel and have it almost working correctly. I have yet to use Forscan to activate the selected temperature display at the top of the home screen, but plan do that (I THINK I know how) when I hook up Forscan to take care of the following problem which I hope I can correct with Forscan. Can someone please provide me with the correct Forscan coding to reverse the display problem as outlined below? (assuming that's possible) I have of course already used Forscan to activate the Nav icon at the bottom of home screen.
The issue is that driver and passenger side screen displays are reversed. The passenger side dial controls the passenger side display OK, and the driver side dial controls the driver side display OK. Problem is they are reversed. I want the AUTO position control to be on drivers side so a passenger can't bump the passenger side dial, accidentally adjusting the temperature.
I don't really have dual zones on this XLT vehicle, no heated or cooled seats or wheel, but just want to get the automatic climate control set up correctly and activate the selected temp display at top of the home screen.
Also, I would like to be able to have split screen nav/audio display as shown below if possible. I don't have Sync nav, but, use Waze or Google Maps through Android Auto. Is there a way to do the split screen on the display ?
Thanks.

Split screen I would like to have when I choose to.
You made me look. I just did my change from XLT to Lariat bezel this week. I did the Forscan changes listed in the other thread about this. Mine looks like your "What I Want" photo.
There is a lot more to it then just changing the bezel and Forscan. You have to add the temp sensors and there are changes to plenum under the dash. I remember reading a post on another forum and the guy basically had to replace everything behind the dash.
Could you possibly list the particular changes you are talking about? There are many spread over a couple threads. Maybe cut and paste?
I'm particularly concerned about:

Also 7DO-04-01 XXXX XXX_ XXXX (enable repeater single or dual channel) What is a "repeater"?
