Wanted the Coyote but really can't use a Mustang anymore. I will say, I had an RCSB Express HEMI and loved everything but that damn old 5/6 speed. Also, the new GM's have finally lost that Ug-Alanche look and to me look pretty sharp! I just wouldn't really want the 5.3 and I think it's crap that you got to break the bank for the 6.2. I feel this is a big mistake on their part. I'd take a RCSB 6.2 .

There are a lot of factors. First and foremost was my situation. I had a 2008 F150 for trade, as well as a 2014 Mustang GT Premium I was upside down on. Ford gave me the most on both, which allowed me to go into the trade without being upside down. (Mustang resale value sucks BTW.) The technology offered by the F150 compared to the competition was at the time unparalleled in my opinion. The ECOBOOST engine, and other technological innovations were part of that. The aluminum body was another factor. I'm OCD as hell. When the dealer showed me the strength of the truck by banging on the bed with his fist, showing no damage I was impressed. I damn well know the Dodge would have been dented from that.

The interior quality was another big deciding factor for me. I don't care for GM's interior at all and the Tundra didn't quite make the cut either. The Dodge had it, but there were little things I liked about the F150 more. The console shifter, the radio, the feel of the materials etc. Although I think the Dodge steering wheel has a slightly better feel to it.

I actually have some trust in the brand as well. Prior to this purchase I owned three F150s and an Expedition. I had great experiences with all my Fords. I've had tons of GM vehicles and frankly, they were all pretty much ****, or at the very least really old. So my perception of them wasn't fantastic. Dodge's quality never grabbed me until this last generation, but the metal and overall fit and finish is still lacking in some areas. I do like the interior though. Looks weren't a factor. I think the F150 is a good looking truck, but I also think the GMC Sierra, Tundra, and Dodge RAM look good too. The Silverado looks good now, but in 2015, it didn't.

Lastly, performance was a factor. After driving them all, the low end torque of the ECOBOOST made it the most fun to drive. The suspension offers some feedback, without being harsh. The GMC / Silverado ride like they are on a cloud and I don't feel connected to the road. I liked the RAM well enough, but I prefer the engine and fuel efficiency of the Ford over it. The ECO Diesel piqued my interest, until I drove one. It was a DOG compared to the ECOBOOST. While gas mileage was important to me at the time, the performance of the ECOBOOST sold me on it. The ability to apply tunes to it and pick up nearly 100HP and torque were also a deciding factor in favor of the ECOBOOST as well.

The F150 wasn't necessarily the best looking truck, nor the cheapest. I bought mine when there were plenty of 2014's on the lot which were deeply discounted. They weren't exactly willing to slash prices on the 2015 when I got mine. Lastly, I saw a truck on the lot that looked exactly like mine. Once I saw that color combination and trim level, I had to have it. The only thing that kept me from buying it on the spot was wanting the ECOBOOST. The truck I saw initially had the 5.0L in it. I test drove the 5.0L and the 3.5L ECOBOOST and told the sales guy: "Give me that gray FX4 with the 3.5L ECOBOOST engine in it and you've got yourself a deal."

I get bored with vehicles extremely quickly. Surprisingly, after a year and some change I'm still all smiles when I get behind the wheel of my 2015 F150. If she were totaled tomorrow, I'd seek another with very few differences. I'd definitely opt for 3.55 gears and maybe a couple of other options I didn't get like the 502A options package. Otherwise, I can't see myself making a change anytime soon.

-F150 is the only truck that has a completely flat floor in the rear... I need this to move around bulky and fragile equipment for work.
-Turbos
-Performance
-And many other small things

For me it was styling. The color, Ruby Red was a huge point. I truly think RR F150's are the best looking vehicles on the road. Price was about the same between Chevy and Ram at my local dealers so that wasnt a big thing.

The interior of the F150 would be the next thing that drew me in. Its light years ahead of the Ram and a good big ahead of Chevy at least IMO. The back seat on the crew cab is giagantic.

The exhaust note of the 5.0 was pretty awesome too. Actually liked it better than the 5.7 that I drove. The 5.3 was about non existent not to mention kinda lifeless in performance. Had all the power you need but just no ***** to it if that makes any sense.

So yeah, outside styling, color and interior amenities were what did it for me.

I was in the market of replacing my current 2008 GMC sierra 1500, and was kind of planning on another GMC. Then my son came home with a brand new 150 supercrew with the 3.5. It was the first time since my 1999 Ford diesel that I'd driven anything that put a big grin on my face. In all fairness, I drove a new fully loaded GMC sierra just to make sure I wasn't making a mistake. In all honesty I think the test drive made me age 10 years. Went to the ford dealer and drove a nicely equipped Lariat with my wife, we both really liked everything about it so we place an order for a new one. Should hopefully take deliver around the 3rd week in June. Really nice trucks.
Oh and I almost forgot, GM does not offer a true metallic gray paint color on their truck currently. It's either metallic purple gray, or metallic baby blue gray. No thanks.

Mostly the sweet 5.0 engine.
I like the looks to after a few simple changes.
But doubt that I will be buying fords for much longer.
They seem to be trying hard to get rid of the V8 engine,
and if they do I will be switching brands faster than Hillary Clinton can make up a new lie to tell.

The V8 option will be around for some time. There is no reason for Ford to get rid of it. It would alienate the "Must have a V8" crowd.
