Hello - i have a 2.7 EB DI engine, I'm wondering if there are existing threads about how to most efficiently clean the intake valves.

Do the cleaners do anything?

 

2018s have Port and Direct Fuel injection, so you dont have to worry about it.

it has dual port and DI, wtf is that

 

2 injectors per cylinder. Port injection for idle and just normal low load driving IE cruising down the highway

the direct takes over when the engine is under a heavy load. IE merging on the the highway

 

hmm - so what kind of engine cleaning is recommended for this engine?

 

Nothing. Just change your oil regularly. Your valves are going to stay clean as heck.

FWIW, there is no efficient way to clean intake valves on a DI engine. Since it's DI, there's no fuel washing over the valves. Intake manifold would have to be removed and valves manually cleaned.

Fortunately the gen2 ecoboost motors have port injection as well as DI, so the port sprays fuel over the valves to keep 'em clean and provide other fueling benefits.
