Absolutely... I removed my factory RB's from my 2017 Lariat SCREW and sold them. The factory RB's are worth decent money and I recommend looking at what they are fetching on ebay. Installed a pair of AMP power steps which are a wonderful addition and it's so easy to do.
IMO it's the best mod I've done on my new truck and I really like the look of not having RB's hanging down.........
They are a great mod, i don't want another truck without them. Had them on my wife's 16 jeep wrangler also. She recently got a 18 wrangler jlu and is bugging cause they aren't making them for it yet. As soon as they do, it will have them.
Just installed the AMP Research Power boards on my 16 Lariat, see if I can sell the original fixed boards. Wasn't a bad installation on the Amp boards, definitely like the look much better now.
The power boards are also more useful and drop close to mid way. The stationary running boards are so close to the body they are almost useless. Barely room to put your foot and you're basically already high enough you can just step tight in. My wife really likes the positioning for getting in the truck.

Yep! They also look slick going up and down but the only problem is if/when they get stuck in the down position. I see so many trucks/suvs with the running boards stuck down. I was set on not getting them but fortunately the truck i wanted already had them lol

I had Amp Power Steps on my 2012 for 5 years and they failed to retract twice over that time period. Live in salt/sand country yet my deployable RB's worked almost flawlessly. Both times they failed to retract was lack of lubrication during the winter. Once I properly lubricated them they NEVER failed again and they saw a lot of use. So the first thing I did for my 2017 SCREW Lariat was to install a new set of Amp power steps. BTW I simply gave them a kick when they were stuck in the down position and they retracted. Even if they don't it's not a big deal because it's almost the same as the fixed running boards.
