2016 Lariat and I cant figure out how to delete text messages? Looks like it holds the last 50. I have been all over the web and tried several things with zero luck.
I do not even see anything about it in my owner's manual.

I think if you disable text messages they disappear.

Just poke around with some of the settings and you should be able to get rid of it.

Or unpair and repair the phone. I've done what you want but can't remember how I did it (Or what caused it to go away)

 

Mine didn't do it at first, but now that stupid text box icon shows up whenever there are unread text messages on my phone. The only way I know to get rid of the icon is to go in and "read" or delete all unread text messages.

 

Sounds like someone been texting someone they shouldn't be

 

Ask your wife to review them and they will either get deleted or the screen smashed

 

You probably turned on the text message prompt.

I keep my phone unattached, but turned it on the other day knowing I'd need to receive messages at dark on twisty roads.
I went through the text alert options so they are sort of familiar in my mind what you can/can't do. When I switched it on, there was no text history from when I last had text enabled.

 

Quit cheating on your spouse. Problem solved.

Anyway, I figured out how to handle the original issue i posted.
I went into the archived/deleted messages on my phone, deleted them all and the messages do not appear on my SYNC anymore.

 

Holy jumping to conclusions, Batman!
