Decision time: Narrowed down to Nitto Ridge Grapplers or BFG KO2
Truck: 2016 XLT Race Red Special Appearance Package FX4/Sport
Usage: I'll rarely if ever tow anything. I won't go off-road very often, but do need to travel a snow/ice packed, steep, winding mountain road in Colorado numerous times per year. And, its 600 miles of interstate to get there....
I want an aggressive look, but don't need "mud tire" performance. Want quiet tires if possible.
I've narrowed down my tire decision to either the Nitto Ridge Grapplers or BFG KO2's (mainly based on looks). I'll do a level kit and go with either 305/55/20 or 295/55/20. The stock tires are Hankook 275/55/20.
Definitely settled on the Fuel Vapor wheels.
Plan to install a Paramount Raptor-like grill.
Here is the starting point:
From everything I've read and seen in person, there should not be any rubbing or trimming required even with the 305's.
Main question is the tires. Read a bunch of scary reviews on horrible tread wear on the BFG's (I was used to getting 80K+ miles on GY Wranglers on my 98 F150).
On the other hand, the Nitto RG's are relatively new tires. How are they holding up?
Let me know your thoughts on these two tire options, or feel free to suggest alternatives too.
Thanks!

Was in same boat last fall went with the KO2s but really wanted the Nittos. Could not wait for them to come in size I wanted so settled for BFGs. Great tires just not as kewl looking but tried and trusted for years..

Had the KO2s on my 2011 I sold to my Dad. Awesome tire that goes great in the snow! They are very quiet and are still wearing very well. I particularly like the stiff sidewall.
That being said, I'll probably go with some Ridge Grapplers when the factory tires wear out on my new 2016. I like to try different tires, and rarely buy the same brand twice. In all honesty, I have always been pleased with every set of tires I have purchased.

If money is not a factor go with the KO2's

I just went thru this same thing between ko2 and ridge grapplers. I chose the ridge grapplers price was really close the the same for my size. I actually think the ko2 where cheaper.
