Default DASH CAM power source

I don't want a cord always hanging down my dash. In my old truck (GMC) I suction cupped the dash cam in the lower left of the windshield and was able to run the cord down into the fuse box on the left end of the dash. The dash cam I ordered is supposed to have a nice long cord. Wondering if it's possible to fish it into the left side of the dash? I could maybe find a 12v source under the dash. What have others done?

I bought the Dongar mirror power adapter. If you have power going to your rear view, this is a small adapter that goes between your mirror and the OEM wire harness. It adds a USB-A plug up there. I connected to this and just have a small USB wire going to that. It works great and is available on amazon.

This is the product for the 15-20 F150. It says its out of stock, it may be worth reaching out to them if you think this is something youd like.

I ran mine under the molding (top of windshield) and down passenger front pillar.

Ezekiel's seems to be a MUCH easier solution.

Running it down the passenger side pillar to the fuse box in the passenger footwell is simple. Remove the pillar molding and you'll have a straight shot just drop it down. Then use an "add a fuse" adapter and put it in a switched fuse.

Yeah, there are prolly a couple variations of that available in terms of the Cam-side power connection, but glad you got it straightened out!

Also I took a quick pic of the back of my 2018 mirror and the wire positions look different than DirtBike Daddy's. Will somehow have to figure out + and - spots.
