What type of fuses are in the F150? I've been looking at a number of dash cams and I'm looking at one of these to hook it up.

I'm planning on
this one this one
.
I have several reasons for wanting one.
But additionally, I'm also very tired of seeing cops flips their lights on at an intersection, run through, and then shut their lights off.
I'd like a time-stamped compilation of these occurrences.
I don't plan to action it, but I'd like the hypocrisy recorded.

So I finally hardwired my dash cam in. To confirm the question on whether it will automatically shutdown when you turn the ignition off . It does.

Here is a pic of some of the tools I used. I wired into fuse #36 using the add a circuit. One issue though was that the add a circuit is the body is a bit short so I had to bend the pins so to angle the fuses up to clear the fuse next to it. I also ordered a little fuse spare fuses box. Always a god idea to have spares.

Good looking out Jr. crime fighter! Merit badge for you.

It's perfectly normal for cops to slow roll an intersection in order to get to a call faster, without lights and sirens tipping off whoever they are trying to catch once they get close.

Just because you have no idea why it's happening, doesn't mean it's hypocritical.

Take your dashcam and point it at your big mouth next time you are at the dentist, and tell him how to drill holes in your teeth, since you seem to know so much.

The manual shows that if you use the USB connection for power the unit will turn on once it gets 5 volts to it. Once the power is shut off the cam will save the video it was recording and then shutdown. This is how it works for me with the cigg adapter. It will work with the hardwire connection im doing using the fuse box in the passenger foot area. I had seen where fuse #36 will turn on and off with the ignition so perfect place to tie in the extra circuit adapter. Just remember DO NOT APPLY 12V TO THIS DEVICE. USB IS 5V!

If you want the info on those parts let me know they are readily available through Amazon with Prime shipping.
Here is the info from amazon. Amazon.com: iSaddle Universal Car Rearview Mirror Mount Holder Bicycle Brackets Vehicle Video Recorder Mount Holder for Car DVR Dash Cam G1W G1WH GT350W...: Car Electronics

They are also selling this cam for 43.00 with Prime shipping. Amazon.com : Black Box G1W Original Dashboard Dash Cam - Full HD 1080P H.264 2.7" LCD Car DVR Camera Video Recorder with G-Sensor Night Vision Motion Detection WDR 140° Wide Angle 4X Zoom - NT96650 + AR0330 : Vehicle Backup Cameras : Car Electronics

Here are a couple of images for everyone.

How did you route from there all the way back to the dash USB charger without the wires hanging out all over the place? That is my biggest concern, as I want to get one of these asap.

The power line did go from the cigg lighter port in the little storage area in front of the console shifter. I routed it under the drivers side dash up the drivers side a pillar across the roof under the headliner and down the rear view mirror.

Now I have a more perm setup. I bought 12v to 5v converter with cable. I attached a micro fuse add-a-circuit to the converter. Plugged it into fuse 36 spot in the fuse panel located below the pass side a pillar. Then up the a pillar across the headliner.

I had to use a small cable tie to hold the add a circuit in place as it would vibrate out and is a pain in the *** to get to when it disconnects.
