Dark Car enabled on 2018 and nothing changed?
I just found this thread about Silent Mode instead of Dark (Police) mode, which of course didn't work on my 2018 XLT. Haven't had a chance to test yet, did anything work better by re-enabling the "dark car"? I too would like to keep the lock and unlock light confirmation.

Used Silent Car 5 yesterday successfully. We were in the same boat traveling full time with a hawk pop-up mounted on our truck. We were so annoyed with the Christmas tree lights affect at night. This thread and a few others were very helpful. Thank you very much persistent people and astronomers who first put it out there!!!
I discovered yesterday that BCM is actually BCYDM in configuration mode while using our forscan for the F-150 2018 EcoBoost.
Ahhh peaceful bliss at last when it is supposed to stay dark at night in the frequented wilderness areas and those occasionally used more crowded campgrounds.
Much appreciate the assistance received
QUOTE=dailyd;5788287]Hey all, I have found the way to change the setting. Ford for some reason calls it "Silent Mode 5" it is found in the same BCM as Dark Car mode.
I discovered this in a sight about astronomy of all places.
As for the reasons to do this, other than nefarious, I am a full time RVer so I spent most of my time out in some pretty remote spots were the dark is important. Anybody who camps out in the wilderness doesn't want to be a nuisance by blinding everyone in shouting range if they forgot their reading glasses in the truck. It seems our astronomy geek friends also covet the dark. This also should reduce the melting of the Cargo Light on the back of the cab.... which still functions with the button on the dash, so this is a real win win for me.
This Forscan thing is pretty awesome.
Thanks Daily.[/QUOTE]

I was able to activte “Silent Mode 5” in my 2018 XLT ( Sync 3.4) through Forscan…. which is cool in concept but what I want is the toggle switch that apparently shows up in Settings, Vehicle. with in Sync.
There is also something called “Centerstack” that needs to be active but I can’t seem to find that on my Forscan. Is the toggle (on/off) button only available in the 14th gen models or should that feature also show up on my ’18?

I researched this and think I found a potential solution, but I've never attempted it. You need to flash the APIM to a slightly newer version. I have a thread on a different form that listed the potential solution, but it wasn't recommended because it's putting newer firmware on an older module. Though it could work.

Once you get the APIM updated, the length of lines for your as built will increase, allowing you to enable the vehicle settings section, and then adding an option to control the dark mode.
Here is a guy who got it working on his '15: https://community.cyanlabs.net/t/upd...n-files/17/877

Thanks for the reply mtech. I think I stumbled across that forum searching for answers… I’ll read it through and see what i can do….
Its a feature I’d honesly only really use a few times a year, like camping and star gazing and such but it seems like such a cool mod if I can get it work like i want it to….
