I hauled more with a 2003 Escape pulling a 5x8 than any 1/2t is rated to haul in it's bed. But... I'm pretty sure the guy that picks our cans every trash day has double that in the bed of his 'special' truck that has the bed sides that lean out at a 45º angle for higher capacity and the suspension that can drop the bumper to within 2" of the street for easy loading and unloading.
