Got my letter early this week as well. They did the fix twice already, wtf is Ford doing about all these QC issues?

I got my notification in the mail yesterday. Not broke, no way I’m going to let the dealer ‘fix’ it.

Guys I did the Spray Flex Seal thing today. Went pretty well. Not much slack in these ends once you have the connectors loose so I think spray is the only way to go. Taped off the socket as well as taped up a portion of the wires so you can see wire colors when done. Then got some card board and inserted socket thur so that when I tilted I could give one quick spray on one side and then tilt the cardboard and hit the other side and done. After drying and removing tape it does not look much different than original.

I made one modification upon hooking everything back up. I moved all the connectors up above the frame rail which gets them actually above the spare. That seems to be a little more of a protected position than on the side of the frame rail down lower. I would really be surprised if I have any problem now. Good Luck.
