Current SYNC 3 and CarPlay/Android Auto Information
No. Weblink is for some aftermarket radios. I found this:
"The WebLink Host application from Abalta Technologies will be available for download in the Android Marketplace and Apple App Store. Once the app is downloaded, users can connect to their WebLink-enabled car head-unit to enjoy Waze and other apps.
Abalta claims it is the only platform available that supports the full range of Android and iOS devices on the market".

Interesting WAZE/SYNC3 integration...coming soon if this is true.

Unless I’m misunderstanding and/or using something completely different, I am running the Ford+ Alexa app (v1.0.1)/integration (iOS) in my 2016 successfully.
Edit: here's a screenshot of the app I'm using.

How? Amazon Alexa just launched in Canada in December and I could not figure this out. Sygic worked but no Alexa Skill brought up anything like this. As far as I am aware it is only available and working on new Ford hybrids in the USA. What's it like to use in the truck?

I'll take a vid of the operation in my truck and post it.
I sent you a PM too, but I will try disconnecting the batter and waiting later tonight and definitely post back... I did want to clarify... The maps never loaded on my 20+min drive first thing this morning... However, 2 hours later when I left to go to my office, it pulled right up and was working... but still could not listen to music from Bluetooth or USB. Yesterday at lunch it worked great never cut out, and when I left lunch to head back to the office, it automatically picked the song I was listening too on my way to lunch right where it left off and worked great, then on my way home last night it connected but was "cutting out" I had been setting my phone in the narrow slot between the shifter and cup-holders... I tried moving it and just sitting it on top of the center console, and I for a little while that I had fixed it, it stopped cutting out... but then started cutting out again, but did not seem as bad... I was wondering if somehow there was a dead spot or something causing interference... but then this morning it would not play at all. I definitely feel at this point that if it is connected with Bluetooth, and then I plug it in(which I am doing for charging reasons - not just for listening) it seems to make things worse... But it is still rather new, so it may have nothing to do with each other, or it may be a psychological thing
I read that news release from Waze. I was confused why they didn't outright say app link and then dug more and found this: https://smartdevicelink.com/
Did 2018 APIMs ditch Ford App Link? Waze will still work with legacy App link on "old sync 3 units on version 3.0" LMAO, but if SDL is smooth as butter I'd switch hardware just for it.
