Did an experiment. Fordowner showed me still on 1.1, downloaded the update, and was able to install it over the 2.2 already on there, most likely because of the build being newer on the download. Anyway, it is updated, FO is up to date and all, but.....
STILL no $ under Symbols keyboard. No second page. I sure as heck am not going to change the SSID on a dozen+ devices just to get one to connect because it is missing symbols.
Will get 3.0 installed tomorrow and hope that corrects the missing keyboard, if not, probably have to take it in and have it wiped and reset.

Do you think the dealer would charge to wipe the computer and reset?
I just ran the Non-Nav version successfully. I did not do a factory reset before hand, although it's probably a good idea as TF pointed out earlier.
Mine installed in 2 steps like before - first one ran for 10mins or so and then prompted to to a key cycle. After restart the install kicked off again and took another 10mins or so and then came back and said successful and to remove the memory key. After one more restart all was set.
Updated mine tonight from 2.2 to 3.0. Easy peasy process same as above, only glitch was my "ok google" voice commands didn't work correctly. Deleted Android Auto from sync & phone and reloaded - now works fine.

since yours is non nav could you elaborate on the process what you did to get to successful conclusion? many are wondering

I upgraded mine tonight, 2016 5.0 XLT 302A Non-Nav. First update was done a couple months ago with an old 4gb sd card to usb adapter to go from factory 2.0 to 2.2, worked great. Tonight i downloaded the North American Non-Nav v3.0, formatted the same sd card in exfat (both times) from mustang forum here: http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90236
Before I put in the usb adapter i did a full master reset on sync. I then installed the usb and it immediately said updating system software. I let the truck run for around 25 minutes or so and left it alone, it finally said it was done, i power cycled, boom v3.0, i did not spend a lot of time, went through settings, reinstalled my phone (Galaxy s8) and tried Android auto quickly, all seemed very responsive.
