Current SYNC 3 and CarPlay/Android Auto Information
2016 F-150 Platinum.
Sync 3 Version 2.0
Current USB Module Interface # GC3T-14F014-BB
Reading through (most) of this thread it appears I need # GC3Z-19A387-D.
Question: Before I order, is this still the most current/best Module? I've seen some other -B Modules listed here that apparently work.
-Not trying to be lazy and not read all 331 pages, but I'm trying to get this taken care of before a 700 mile trip in 2 days.

I thought it was a pain to have to plug in my iPhone everytime I got in the car so I tried something that kind of solves the problem. I had an old iPhone 5s laying around without a wireless plan. I reset it to factory and renamed it to a different name than the phone I use. Added some music, my Spotify and other apps. I then connceted it to the iPhone 7s I carry via wifi and personal hotspot and plugged it in. I leave it in the closed console plugged it charging. It works like a charm. The 5s gets its data trough my 7s and I never have to plug in the phone I carry. Everything works and the 5s stays charged as its always plugged in.
I happened to have an old iPhone, but I see them really cheap on craigslist all the time. You do have to sign into iTunes store to download your apps so if you find a used one be sure they signed out of iCloud before you buy it.
That's one way to go "cordless" with an iPhone....

I tried via USB and via bluetooth still it wont come on the sync 3 screen...
Just updated to version 2.2 Build 17011. Is there a work around for the media player bug where Gracenote cannot be turned off for art work despite the settings.
I do not understand why every time software is updated to provide new features they have to screw up something that used to work just fine! Instead of giving me 10 new features and screwing up 5 old ones, just give me 5 new ones and leave the old ones OK. This is not just a problem with Ford, seems to be universal to software writers.

It did about 4 times in a row, but just this morning I found it had disconnected. There are a few things that could have caused that so I am still sniffing it out. I think the problem lies in how I use the 7 when not in the car. Otherwise all functions work perfectly. I have not tried a BT connection yet, but that could be easier to "nail up". I will update as I learn more.

Far as I can tell this is pretty useless if you live 100 miles from the closest metro area. Our weather out here in the country don't follow any of the cities weather.
