I went to my dealer today and their staff happened to be in a meeting. When I requested to speak to a certain individual, they pulled him out of the meeting. It was the salesman that I worked with when I bought my 2016 f150 XLT (love the truck, btw). Short story – the meeting they were in was apparently about the pushing of the sync 3 update that will include android auto. The salesman, and another person (not sales), said the meeting was regarding the update being pushed in ten days. Of course both of them were quick to say, “Unless Ford decides to hold it back for technical reasons.” But, as of now they are planning on pushing the update on March 1. When I asked what version number the update would carry, they just said, “Something over the current 1.0.” Both the employees I talked to invited me to sit in on the meeting regarding the update. They explained, just like someone on this forum wrote, that the Lincoln update was basically a beta test to work out bugs and perfect the update before pushing it to everyone.

Sounds cool and that`s great news but i`m not going to hold my breath or get excited about this until it happens.

haha well enough of us have been beta testing it so far
Before everyone freaks out... I have spent hours reading through the forum and googling stuff to figure this out on my own, I guess im just not smart enough to do it.
2016 Ford F150 Lariat, Sync 3 (non nav)
VIN: 1FTEW1EFXGFB30382
Current: Version 1.0
I found the link for the non nav v1.0 - v2.2, downloaded it and moved the files onto a brand new 32GB Lexar Thumb Drive formatted as FAT32, when I got to my office this morning I shut my truck off, opened/closed the door to ensure everything was powered off, plugged the thumb drive into the USB Ports (inside the little compartment with the sliding door), powered the truck on and it recognized the Lexar USB but didnt do anything. I turned the truck on/off and tried plugging the USB in different ways but nothing initiated the install.
I really appreciate the help, and I apologize for being so ignorant.

Your files need to be on the root of the thumb drive.
Lexar (D: )
>SyncMyRide
>autoinstall.lst
with no other files on the drive. You will need to install part 1, then remove the files and add the second set of files and install part 2.
I've seen about 5 different part numbers for the USB hub. I'm going to run to the dealership at lunch. If I'm going with a bluebacklight I think i want this one? HC3Z19A387B is that correct?
