Cruise Control Switch
I have a '16 Lariat 5.0 SuperCrew, 115,xxx miles on it. I have had it for about a year now, very happy with it. This summer the cruise control started acting up. It would randomly cancel while driving down the highway and for a while I would not resume or come back on when I pressed the button. After a few miles, it'd come back on if I keep pressing the resume button. It has gotten worse now, where most times now it will not even turn on. The "set" indicator light in the dash doesn't turn on. I have also noticed when this acts up, the directional and OK keypad button cluster above it will function screwy and not work as it should. "OK" will move the menu up, "Up" sometimes will act like the "OK" button, left and right typically seem to function normal. I have read that clock spring could be a possible culprit, but all of the buttons on the right side of the steering wheel seems to work just fine. Also when it does act up, I have turned the wheel and tried pressing the buttons on the left side button cluster with no change. So I'm guessing base on that, it probably isn't the clock spring...I am leaning to the issue is the button pack, as it looks like the cruise and the directional/OK buttons are all in one switch pack. Has anyone had similar issues or replaced that switch pack?
Thanks for any thoughts!

Even though all the buttons on the right side of the steering wheel work fine? If it was the clock spring, wouldn't that affect the buttons on both sides of the steering wheel? The horn also works fine as well.
OK, I wasn't sure how that clock spring worked... I would have thought it'd affect all the buttons, horn, etc in the steering wheel since it all goes thru there. Is there anyway to do a diagnostics on it or just buy and replace and hope that was it?
The 2015 and 2016 model years have had a reasonable number of clockspring failures and I believe the clockspring was redesigned for the later models. The vast majority of steering wheel switch issues are remedied by changing out the clockspring. BTW, the replacement clockspring is the newer design.

Replaced mine last year. The switches for the radio didn't work or did the wrong function then the cruise started acting up. Replace the clockspring. Very easy to do. took about a half an hour to replace.
Thanks! Yea that's similar to what mine is doing, except the left hand buttons...cruise will intermittently work/not work and then the directional/OK button pad above the cruise buttons will do the wrong command sometimes... OK will move the selected item up or down instead....Up will be OK instead...just randomly or buttons won't even work, like the cruise control buttons.
