Dealers choice really.
In the dash - its easy to run the tweeter wires but then the speaker wires have to go thru the door boot which can be a pain.
In the door - its easy to run the door speaker wires but then the tweeter wires have to go thru the door boot to get the the dash or A-pillar tweets unless you mount the tweets in the door or door sail panel
At the amp rack - clean setup and now you gotta make longer wire runs to your door speakers and tweeters.
Really up to you.

I'm currently running Pioneer TS-D69C's up front in my 2018 which are internally/on the speaker crossed over. No extra box to contend with.
On my old 2014 I was running some Hertz "Energy" series 6.5's and I literally stuffed the crossovers in the dash without a care. Kinda just hung them by the speaker leads over the HVAC tube.
