Crazy DTE ????
Manual states it quite clearly. It is based on the most recent 500 miles driven. So, when you hit 501, it drops mile 1, and so on. When you hit 4,000, it is based on 3,500 - 4,000.
If you drive the same day in and day out, then do a few hundred miles of stop and go city driving, it will read quite different.
Resetting your previous trip odometer and avg MPG has zero impact on DTE.

The needle reads full on the 2017 like the old school gauge doesn't it?
In all seriousness, my 2015 with 2.7 reads 500 mile DTE or so for each fill up with the 23 gallon tank. I have a lifetime average 22.3 MPG which computes to 513 miles of actual DTE if I got 22.3 MPG for that tank.

Multiply your indicated mpg number from Screen 1 by the capacity of your tank (on a full fillup) - I'm getting 20+ mpg, 36 gal tank, so 720+ dte on a fill-up. Whatever that number shows is the multiplier for a full tank. .
