Default Crash bars?

Ok so I bought a salvaged title truck and I want to get it certified by the chp. I noticed while fitting a level kit that there was a bar missing from the drivers side in front of the front wheel. On the right side it has a bar. I also discovered thru research that people often remove these bars to fit fatter tires.
I need that left side bar to pass the inspection but the part description is not “crash bar” as people refer to them here. What should I search for?

So many people remove these - is it possible there’s a glut of these parts at the bottom of most owners gardens? Should I just go to the buy/sell forum and ask?

Did the highway patrol call you out for it during inspection? I doubt they would even know what they look like.

If you do think you need them I'm sure ANY off road shop in California that lifts Ford trucks would give you a set for free. They take them off and throw them away.
(Or dispose of them in whatever insane Prop 65 hazmat compliant CA manner is required by state law.)

I haven’t taken it for inspection yet but I noticed it was missing so I didn’t want a chp officer doing the same....

Cut the other side off. Paint it up the areas nice and pretty. They'll never know

They won't know what to look for...have several buddies in CA that are running 4+" lifts w/ 35's and up. They removed the crashbars and simply rattle canned where the bar was. Looks as factory as can be.

I cut off the factory bolts and washers, flipped my crash bars and got new grade 8 hardware and bolted them back on. I can fit 35's no problem. They may not be in the designed factory position they came on the truck in, but I figure it's better than not having them at all.

why not just unbolt them? rather than cut off?

Do they fit fine after flipping or do you have to trim something?

Are you referring to the front or rear crash bars?
