I haven't needed to open my tailgate for the last couple weeks and saw this today when I was cleaning the rear backup camera area. I originally just thought it was mud or dirt splatter but when i tried cleaning it off it didn't go away.

I am guessing someone tried to "borrow" my tailgate when I was watching the Game on Sunday or maybe the week prior.

Its nice Ford included a lock on our tailgates but the handle doesn't seem very strong, I never had any issues with the tailgate freezing like some of our members here but if you ever do have problems, you might want to be careful how hard you pull on the tailgate handle.
