Shift Mapping
Just hit the 2,000 mile mark on my new 2016 F-150 and love the truck! It is better in every regard over my 2013 model, save one exception--the shift mapping. Like my current truck, my 2013 was a RCSB XL, with the base V6 and the 3.55 gears. Under casual acceleration, the 2013 would shift into second gear around 7-8 mph, and third around 13-14. Sixth gear would come at 40-41 mph, and on flat ground, the truck would hold it at 38 and above. This was perfect for my regular driving and cruising habits.
In my new 2016, the transmission seems to be hesitant to shift into second gear before 10 mph, and sometimes will hold second gear as I cruise at 16-17. Then strangely, it will shift into fourth as early as 21, but won't shift into sixth any earlier than 44. This is all after the transmission and engine are at normal operating temperature.
I realize that this is nit-picking, and the rest of the truck is fantastic--it is better than my 2013, and certainly better than the GMC I just traded in. The shift mapping does leave a lot to be desire for my usage though. Does anyone else have these issues? Are all/most current gen F-150s mapped this way from the factory, or do they differ by engine and rear axle ratio? Is my transmission still in the learning process?
If there is a thread which already addresses this, please direct me to it!

I use sport mode to correct shift patterns.
I'm going to try Livernois tune in hopes for improvement..
Our tunes can adjust the shift pattern on these vehicles along with throttle response. Feel free to get ahold of us for additional information regarding the tune, either via PM or phone and we would be happy to help.
