From what I have read on warranty, a taped duct and insulation should have no effect...worst case, unzip and remove said items before visit..in the meantime, mine works satifactorily...warranty denial rests on showing that you did something that damaged or changed the existing system

Well now our new 2015 Expedition EL Limited does the same thing as our 2015 F150 with the seat backs not cooling. Its going in to the dealer tomorrow for them to tell me its normal like they did with my F150.

Are you ducting the heat from the lumbar area TED to the bottom of the seat?

This could be why your bottom area is not cooling as well.

Did anyone do a poll with this issue to see what kind of numbers we are talking about experiencing this????

Might be a good thing to include.

BTW....since there are TWO threads on this exact topic, they should either be merged OR better yet, create sticky until Ford fesses up to the problem and has a fix on the way!!!!

FORD ENGINEERING TAKE A LOOK....I think this effort on Dave's part basically validates that a/the root cause of the 2015 design working poorly is the issue of the seat back cooler/TED not being exhausted correctly.....maybe amongst other problems....but this would probably make the 2015s work more as advertised......COOLING SEAT BACKS......smile....

What's stupid is that a OWNER had to go through all that just to get it to work properly. That alone is what frustrates me.

Ford needs to cut the **** and own up to the fact that the design doesn't work and they should do whatever they have to to remedy it.

Hell my wife even brought it up yesterday - it is 102 already this morning and she wont turn hers on because it gets hot.

Yes a poll was created under a different thread, right now looks like 8.7% of the polled people say their seats are working properly. So 28 trucks out of 322 polled are working the other 294 are not working according to the owners.

I can't help but think that the 28 owners that do NOT have a problem just did not notice and/or fully test their seatback cooling!? This is NOT a random issue, it is a flawed design, as best we can tell so far......

Owners of such a fine vehicle otherwise should not be subjected to this @#&$ on a $60K vehicle without the manufacturer stepping up and admitting the problem and FIXING it before summer is over.....IMHO
