Same problem, bottom cooling, top warming. So I unzipped my seat back and folded over the back cover and drove around with the seat back open for a week, sure enough every single time it's been cool. My cooling duct is in place but the heat coming out of the ted was staying in the seat back. So I think I'm gonna install some sort of plastic ducting from the hot air to the bottom of my seat and should do the trick.

Contacting my peoples at the local news channels...we'll see how that goes.

To be fair, I also mentioned that Ford is supposedly "working on a fix", but every time someone calls to report this problem, they get the "that's the first we've heard of it" line.

Sent links to this thread and to the 44 complaints on NHTSA.

*Edit
Just sent a follow up email with the thermal images and a pic of my discolored seat back.

SRG963,

How did the new people seem to respond? I am thinking about doing the same thing, but I am in a small town and our local stations come from a different city. There is a Facebook news thread that people from my town seem to follow. I am thinking about sending them some information.

Do you have your own FLIR? If I present this to a local news/facebook news I would like FLIR images of my personal seat. I was looking at this one online http://www.flir.com/flirone/content/?id=69369

Thanks.

Jason

I sent everything from my office, so maybe I'll hear something tomorrow.

I've only got a $20 laser gun, but it works well enough to prove the issue.

You're prepared to spend $250 just to attempt to prove a point?

I believe you can rent FLIR cameras at some Home Depots but I have no idea how much they charge.

It took a few days for the news correspondent to get back to me on the last issue...hopefully I'll hear something this week.

Side note, I get my truck back today! Nice new rear bumper, and I'm thinking of adding a "Bikers Watch Out For Trucks" sticker lol.

And, I'll be dropping my truck of this Sunday for another seat cooling not working submittal to Ford on 08/31/15.
Then I will be taking it back again on 09/08/15, 09/14/15, 09/21/15, and 09/28/15 to round out September.
Hopefully a fix will be out soon.

Hi Jason and other folks on this thread,

As part of Ford’s commitment to quality, we continuously monitor reports from our customers and dealers and are aware of the concern that some 2015 F-150 customers are experiencing with a lack of cooling from the seatback. Our Engineering and Service teams have been working closely with our supplier to develop a solution, which will be available to Ford dealers in September and implemented in production going forward.

Crystal,

With all due respect, this is just lip service. Until/unless a TSB is issued, dealers are denying the problem exists, and or turning them away with "It's working as designed." We've seen the note that went out via OASIS. It's not enough. Ford should be doing more to proactively notify owners (and DEALERS) that there IS a problem, and provide more concrete information about what the fix will entail, and when it will be available.

I also take offense at "that some 2015 F-150 customers are experiencing..."

NO. ALL customers with these heated/cooled seats are experiencing this problem. It is physically impossible for them to NOT have the problem.

It may seem inconsequential (first world problem, amiright?) to you, but for those of us who just paid $50K or more for a truck, we have certain expectations which are not being met.

I received the exact same response from my CSM this morning.

"We received notice this morning that our Engineering and Service teams have been working closely with our supplier to develop a solution, which will be available to Ford dealers in September and implemented in production going forward. Hope this helps a little. If I see any additional information I will forward it on to you. Thank you again for your patience."

I did ask for specific date, and she was unable to tell me. She also suggested waiting to make an appointment until the dealers actually have access to ordering the "solution", whatever that might be.

While this is nice on your part to post, Ford would drop you like a hot rock should they determine to do something otherwise.

Ford needs to do a build search all the way back to 13, send owners an official letter, extending warranty on this feature and that a repair is being created.

very simple!

Sorry but I don't by social media reps words as being binding!
