Default Cooling Fans and Grill Shutters

Today it was about 30 degrees and raining/sleeting and when I got out of the truck to check the mail I noticed the cooling fans were running. When I looked in the grill I saw the grill shutters were completely closed while the fans were running. After a short time the fans turned off and the shutters remained closed. I'm guessing when it's cold the computer closes the grill shutters and uses the fans to control coolant temperature for better heater performance and aerodynamics. Another advantage of using electric fans instead of the old clutch fan. Only had the truck for 3 months and still learning new things about him.
