Default Continued service plan - csp

All, I've got a 2016 F150 SuperCrew with the 2.7 EB and the 6 speed tranny. I bought the truck new and it has 78k miles. I originally bought the Extended Service Plan which is up in about a week. I'm now being offered a Continued Service Plan (CSP) that runs about $54 per month with a $500 deductible. I haul a camper a few times a year and always try to have the required maintenance performed as it comes due. I'm leaning towards buying into it because a tranny or other significant component failure would have it pay for itself and can be cancelled at anytime. It would allow me to extend the warranty protection for up to another 3 years. Anyone else have this Plan and have any experience with claims for Service? Thanks, Bob

Just before my ESP ran out I took out a new one with Ziegler Ford. As long as you get it before the current one ends no inspection is required

I had no idea you could get another ESP. I thought that was only for new vehicles that had not exceeded the original manufacturer's warranty.

YEs Zeigler does! Their website is easy to navigate and you can pick from a variety of terms months/years and deductible amount. Any new plan kicks in when you buy it. I got mine the day before my existing ESP expired. It was a very simple process...you can call them if you have questions

Thank you. I'll check pricing at local dealerships near me. I appreciate the info very much.

I doubt your local dealerships can get close to their pricing. Once purchased it will be honoured at any Ford dealership

What did you end up doing? I have the ESP thru Ziegler as well. I can extend it for about $400 less BUT it is only 2 yrs and 20k miles. I did call about the CSP and the guy either didnt know or lied to me. He told me the CSP wasnt a 3rd party and it was thru Ford. My research says that isnt true....supposedly 'back" by Ford but not a Ford warranty. Personally I dont trust 3rd party warranty companies.

Just FYI, I missed renewing my ESP by 4 days. Should I want to continue I’ll have to do the used vehicle inspection thing. I do however now believe in extending warranty’s. They have paid for themselves on my two vehicles. One Ford and one GM. FWIW. They have worked to my advantage and I’m okay with that.
This is not meant to start another fire storm on the subject. Please do not.

Are the prices the same as when you first bought the ESP----I went through them as well and plan on extending if I keep the truck longer!

They are slightly more expensive. We travel quite a bit in the summer. The last thing I want to worry bout on vacation is my truck breaking down. We had considered renting a car but with the price of car rentals going thru the roof, not much saving if any. I just cant find enough on the CSP to trust it. Too many horror stories with 3rd party and my dad bought them on 2 cars...any time he went to the dealer..."sorry thats not covered".
