Default Console shifter lighting

2020 XLT FX4 SCREW 4X4 3.5EB. Is the PRNDL next to the conse shifter supposed to light up? New to me truck and couldn't find this anywhere.
EDIT: Nevermind, deeper dive found the answer. Found the answer: No.

Buy this: FL3Z-13466-B

Can be installed very quickly, plug is still in the console just not connected. Will only glow in the "Ice Blue" color. Did this myself a few weeks ago.

You'll have to glue it in place.

I think Ford decided not to light up the console but instead put the lit gear in the cluster where it is easy to see. Also the designer was probably at least 45, old enough to know you shouldn't have to look down to know it's 2 clicks from R to D.

I bought the OEM light from my dealer, probably around $20, to illuminate my shift console and installed it. Seemed like a good idea at the time but it's really relatively useless at nite time. The shift arm is not close enough to the individual lights to easily determine the gear shift position. Since I purchased & installed it, I do like to look at it occasionally at night, just to admire its lights, but useless still comes to mind. Many times the bulky steering wheel blocks the dash's gear shift position light. Would be really nice if there was a system on the console that illuminated only one of the gear position at a time. Seems like everything is almost there because it's there on the dash. As some have suggested and it a good idea which I have and will keep work on counting notches. Ford keep thing about adding a functional shift individual position illuminated light to the console.

It's really annoying to buy a $67K vehicle and have the light bulb removed from the console shifter to save Ford $2. I've owned 4 vehicles with automatic transmission console shifters and my 2019 F150 is the first that (a) isn't illuminated and (b) doesn't indicate the gear on the console. You get used to it being there and expect it. I drive a lot of rentals and it's uncommon for a console shifter to not have an illuminated console gear indicator, along with the one that's usually in the instrument cluster. My 2011 F150 had both.
