Default connection on back bumper

i hate to appear stupid but what is the connection on the passenger side of the back bumper? I've gone through the manual, and even gone to Ford OEM parts suppliers looking for a diagram on the bumper assembly and can't find anything on it. i know the other side is the 7 and 4 pin connectors for trailer hook-up, but can't figure out what this connection is for.

It's for dropping your spare tire.

Not a connection but just a hole cover. This hole is used when you get the spare tire using the tire removal tool that comes with your truck.

Assuming you bought the truck new, the salesperson should have gone over the basics of the truck with you, which should have included how to drop the spare tire, and where the tools are located.
