Default Confession, and POLL!

I fibbed on my last oil change. I reset the clock but I didn't change the oil. I still haven't. Hopefully get around to it this weekend. I bought all the stuff well within the correct time period though. Probably 500 miles over the OLM at this point.

Still under warranty so don't want to have issues with that!

Be honest, who has done this?

I just did this, because the oil in my truck is only ~4,000 miles old...yet the OLM was screaming at me since the oil was last changed in December of 2022 (I don't put many miles on my truck, lol!). Now, I wouldn't THINK of resetting and not changing the oil if the mileage on the oil was high.

I do all my own oil changes and upload the records with mileage, receipts , and so forth in the Ford pass app. I almost never remember to reset the dummy light but I don’t wait for the computer to tell me its guess.

so I voted yes, because I’ll randomly get the change oil light and just reset it because I’ve already changed it

I ignore the OLM since I change oil every 8-9k miles which is about 6 months of driving. I do reset the OLM when changing the oil.

Yep, do it between changes all the time. Mine has never gone off because of miles, just time. But do watch the mileage, never over 5K for an oil change

Me too. I change anywhere from 3-5000 miles and often forget, may be something with age in my case! KM

I reset it each time, but I dont go by the OLM. I change the oil in the spring and in the fall regardless of miles, though it’s never usually more than 4000 or so.

The N/A engines don’t
care much. But the EcoBoosts are known to be hard on oil so I like to keep fresh stuff in there.

Plus, that’s what works for me. I don’t want to lay on the ground and change my oil in the middle of winter.

That's because when I do mine it has already been bugging me for awhile.
