Default Collision warning windshield lights not working

Brought home a 2019 F-150 with all the bells and whistles (Platinum trim level) a few weeks ago, and I know for a fact that it's got forward collision warning / brake assist, because it's in the menu settings.

However, per this thread:

https://www.f150forum.com/f118/red-l...p-dash-304925/

The collision warning lights that flash on the windshield should come on every time I start the engine. I've never seen them do the test cycle, and earlier today, the system "worked" when some idiot cut me off to make a last minute exit from the highway. I saw out of the corner of my eyes my dashboard light up, but no lights ever flashed on the windshield.

Looking at the top of my dash, it's just an expanse of black plastic and leather. I don't see any lights. Could one of you who has this system take a photo of your dash showing the LED lights?

Thanks.

That red flashing light no longer available in 2019.

I want to believe you, but my manual says otherwise (first place I looked when I noticed this issue). Would you please provide an official Ford source for that? I'd appreciate it.

Search, and you'll find previous arguments. They failed to update the manual, but the red flashy light is no more for 2019. You just get the beeping and the warning on the cluster.

Bloody cost cutting...

Damn. Well, I'm glad that it's not an egregious manufacturing error. Disappointed that it's gone, though.

If anyone else is in the same boat as me, here's the thread that confirms what TexasRedfish and tvsjr said.

Oddly enough, I did look for this issue, but my search queries were far too generic (I didn't think Ford would have cut out that feature in 2019, so I didn't look up the 2019 changes).

Its gone from it showing up on your WS--but you will get the big red alert in your instrument cluster and a warning sound as well

I'd give you mine out of my 2018 if it wouldn't leave a gaping hole in the dash... I hate the damn thing.

Yeah, some may see cost cutting, but we had the flashing on our Flex and I found it to generally be more of a distraction in an event than helpful. It draws your eye to it instead of what is happening and that momentary eye draw could keep you from making an important move to prevent an accident (like deciding which direction to steer if you have to avoid something).

So maybe it was cost cutting, but it not being there was a big part of why I wanted the system again in my 2019. I love the feature, hated the light bar.

For anyone thinking they can buy the light and install it, don't waste your time as there is no wiring for it.
