Question Climate backlighting/steering electrical issue

My 2015 F150 climate backlighting stays on draining my battery. After I close a door, it takes about 24 seconds for all interior lights to extinguish. Then at the 40 second mark, my climate control backlighting turns back on and stays on. Also, I recently had some warnings that may or may not be connected with the potential electrical problem. I received the steering assist fault, service advancetrac, and hill assist (maybe another message I didn’t record). I temporarily solved that by disconnecting the negative side of the battery. This did not solve the backlighting issue, though.
Ive seen posts for the parking switch. I have not had a problem with that, I don’t believe, because the “P” lights up and all other lights extinguish.
I have the maestro idatalink with a pioneer head unit recently installed. Idatalink thinks it’s the switch and says it’s not their problem.

Thanks

Default Backlighting

I have the same problem, minus any warning lights. Have the truck on the charger now. Also have the same Maestro kit with an alpine head unit. I’ll let ya know if I find anything.

I took my F150 in to Ford for diagnostics. They said they were able to get to step 8 and could go no further because I no longer have the Ford audio control module. So that was a waste of money and time. They weren’t much help at all. Especially after telling me “the electrical guy” with all the experience was the one looking at it.
I’ve been in touch with Dara DeGrand at Maestro (Dara.DeGrand@adsdata.ca). She said their set up has nothing to do with backlighting. She said to take out my new unit and set it back up to original and see if it still does it. Well, that is time consuming and inconvenient. So, not today. But, I also imagine I’d have to have an appointment with Ford again to re-diagnose in the event the backlighting was still not working properly.

I have a 2015 4.3 display with SYNC. I installed FTR1 kit with the Maestro RR and had issues with the climate control backlights staying on as well. I disconnected the Maestro RR while keeping the connections to the climate board plugged in, so I believe Maestro when they say the Maestro RR has nothing to do with the backlighting. I do believe something is causing an issue with the FTR1 kit or having the stock CD player removed. After reading this thread and another on this forum with a similar issue regarding the backlight and aftermarket setup, I decided to swap everything back to stock and the issue appears to be fixed. I will monitor for the next week and report back. The other thread I read about the issue is here.

Can't answer why you're climate lights won't come on when driving, however I was able to resolve my issue by cutting slots into the FTIR1 and plugging in the unused circuit boards. I had a thread on the 12volt forums and they confirmed it was something the have seen while using the kit.
